I don’t usually post rough work on this site but I was playing around with some video footage yesterday and I had to post these stills up.

Amazing! I’m saving up for a Canon 7D (hopefully later this year) and I’m just as excited about the video side of things as the stills.

I got a good deal on a Panasonic GF1. It’s like a cross between a compact and DSLR. It’s the video mode I’m mostly interested in as I fancy trying something new (I haven’t got a clue where to start though).
It uses a Micro Four Thirds mount but I am going to get an adapter so I can use my Nikon lenses as well. Actually, these cameras have become really popular as a way to uses old rangefinder lenses (Leica, Voigtländer etc.) on a digital body.
The sensor has a 2x crop which is not so good for stills (I tend to prefer standard and wide angles over telephoto) but for video it makes it much easier to increase my range. This extra reach should also make filming the birds a bit easier as the camera won’t need to be so close. I think I’m going to try uploading some raw video soon.
